Hey Kathy, great comment :)
Arlene, I don't remember what I used, it's been a while, and Amber is magical...
Funny story about this amber ring that I purchased from a slavic country, I loved it and I kept it in a box, 'cause well I don't wear jewellry, then one morning I put it on, don't know why and I went to a garage sale with the most extraordinary items and clothes, that were classy and looked brand new, I wondered why this lady was selling all of her beautiful things, and I looked at her, and I saw something, and without a second thought, I told her I didn't have enough money with me, but I had this ring, that I never wore, and that for some reason, I wore today and she took the ring and put it on her finger...I asked her to see if she might like an exchange. ps there were also long winter coats made in Canada's North, where the igloos are... so she told me, 'I love jewellry. and this, this ring was meant for me' and I left with my treasures as she was gazing at hers..
Amber.....WOW! I saw the most fantastic things made of amber in Poland! They have a mediaeval castle that used to belong to the Teutonic Knights (located in what is nowadays Torun). Of course, the present building is completely a reconstruction. Inside there was (in 1974) a gorgeous collection made of amber; not only jewelry, but cathedrals, castles,statues...all carved in amber! I was bewildered! And stiil remember it after so many years! I like your story!

With the 2012 opening, I am definitely thinking Mayan!
I like shiny. Even the (fake) fur sparkles. The amber is magical.
